Why do Italian women always have more style than other women?
In Italy, the land of fashion and elegance, it’s only natural that public officials want to look good too. And so the Italian police ordered high heeled-shoes for its 14,750 female police officers, who wanted to give their uniform a younger and sexier look.

Anyway whoever wrote the story that is only their take on it isn’t it?
I prefer my take on it. Thankyou for the answer anyways
In a male-dominated society, women learn from an early age that to have their way they should hone their communication skills. And style is one of those skills that most of them learn from their mothers, their female relatives or their peers.
In Italy there were no female police agents or officers until 1960, and only in recent years, thanks mostly to intermational treaties upholding equal opportunity principles, they gained access to all branches of defense and police corps which were once a male-only line of work.
Anybody knows that every member of an uniformed corps (be it armed forces, police or park rangers) is never issued just one uniform to wear on all occasions. There are everyday uniforms (for summer and winter) and "parade" uniforms that are worn only on ceremonial events.
Female police officers are issued high-heeled footwear only to be worn by those on desk duty, while officers on patrol (both male and female) tend to wear shoes that must be both comfortable to wear and reliable for foot pursuit (remember that the majority of Italian track and field olympians are drawn from the Police and Armed Forces).
Parade uniforms often include long boots and swords, which are rarely worn any other time. See the difference in the photos listed as sources.
