Are the Salomon S-Lab2 XT Wings Shoes racing shoes or training shoes?

I’ve heard they are trail racing shoes…what exactly is trail racing? How do these shoes compare with the other 2010 distance shoes from Nike, Brooks, Saucony, Asics etc

Feel how light they are compared to your training shoes. Racing shoes are always a lot lighter.

Can shoes that have removeable spikes be used as racing flats?

Just wondering, I normally use racing flats when I run, but would it be possible for these shoes to do double duty and also be used as flats? Or would the cushioning screw things up?

You could, and that’d be fine for cross country races, but I wouldn’t try that on pavement. Cross country spikes usually have less support.

Looking for a movie about a boy’s dream on racing (something about running shoes)?

So I watched this movie quite a while ago. All I remember was this:

A boy, who is poor, has a passion for running and racing. In one race, the winner gets a trophy, and the second place gets a pair of new running shoes. During the race, the boy doesn’t try to be #1, but #2, just so he can win the running shoes. Any help? Thanks

The only movie that I can think of that is similar is Children of Heaven (a 1997 Iranian film) in which a poor 9 y/o boy needs shoes to replace those that were stolen so his father doesn’t find out. At school, Ali sees an announcement that there is to be a race in which third prize is, among other things, a pair of sneakers. He begs the coach at his school to allow him to enter, even though the deadline is past. “Please, sir,” the boy cries. “I promise to win!” Who could deny him? He also promises his sister to finish third and give her the sneakers, or trade them for girls’ shoes. And the combination of his determination and the training he has done running to school every day makes him a formidable competitor in the four kilometer race. But so focused is he on the need to get those shoes that he is in danger of spoiling everything by his overwhelming desire to finish not first or second but third.

What are the best shoes for commuting/racing?

Hey there,
I’ve never used clipless pedals before but I’m building up a tri-bike and like the Shimano A530 pedals. They use spd clips. I use the bike to commute and would like a shoe that has a recessed cleat so I’m not walking on my heels on my way to spanish class.

What are the best shoes that I could use to bike to school and bike to the finish line in?

Mountaim bike shoes will be your answer. Many road cyclists use mountain bike shoes for this same reason.

What type of running shoes do I need for racing 100m - 800m?

I’m a high school senior and last year I dropped from running the mile to running the 100, 200, and 800m races. I didn’t have spikes for the year but borrowed a pair from a friend at state and dropped my 200m time by 2 seconds. I would like a shoe that will suit all 3 races and has spikes. Any price range. Color needs to have at least red, white, or black in it.

i would say get 2 pairs of spikes. get one pair for racing 100-200m and then middle distance spikes for the 400m-800m. and the Nike PowerCat is the one to get because those man are light on your feet and they have them in red, white , and black and run for about 40 bucks and sell them at like sports chalet or sports authority.

Are wrestling shoes good for auto racing?

Ya I wore them when i was driving karts they are very thin soled so you can feel the pedals better but now i’ve moved up into a car so I went out and got some fireproof shoes, also very thin.

Are these Drag Racing Shoes good?

My boyfriend is getting into drag racing with a 1986 Mustang GT that he built. I can’t tell you much else about it other than that it’s a turbo. He is going to need racing shoes when he starts to going up to the drag races and I want to get him some for our anniversary. I found these and there is a safety rating that i just don’t understand. Anyone out there know anything about these?

I wear that same shoe for racing. It’s excellent.

I recently bought a racing bike and want to get some sdp pedals and shoes.?

I dont understand what cleats are and how they work? What shoes will work with what pedalS????

Can any1 help?????

You have two choices, one is the LOOK shoes and pedals and the other is the SPD shoes and pedals. The LOOK shoes have a very stiff sole with an exposed cleat and are hard to walk around in are made for road bikes only. The SPD shoes are more flexible and are made for mountain bikes and have a recessed cleat that is almost like walking around in regular shoes.

A lot of people use SPD pedals on road bikes because they are easier to walk around in. The pedals will come with the proper cleats. I bought Specialized shoes at the local bike shop ( fit is very important ) and picked up Shimano PD - M520 pedals on line for $40.

Best place to find cross-country running shoes in Colorado?

I am looking for a pair of cross country running shoes. Not trainers but racing ones. I already have long distance ones for track. I am looking for the ones that do not have metal spikes. Does anyone know where i can find a pair? Where are the best stores and what are their names so i can go there?

Unfortunately I don’t know where to find them. What you are looking for are "racing flats." You could call around to running stores in your area and ask, however you can also order them online. Because i wear a rare size I had to order mine, and i had a very successful experience. Usually ordering the same size and same brand as your trainers. there are also websites where you get free fast shipping and returns so that if they don’t fit it is easy to swap. sites like zappos or runningwarehouse.

about how many seconds can racing flats take off versus normal training shoes?

i had a 2 mile race and i got like 19th place out of about 190 people but i was wearing normal training shoes.
how much can they help in a 2 mile? 3 mile?

depends on how much ur training shoes weight, but my best guess is about 5-10 seconds for the two mile and 10-15 for the three mile. just my best guess. a big part of it depends on how fast you are in the first place too and what type of track u r on.
