EASTBAY.com - One Stop Athletic Shopping by Sunny Marshall

If your family is anything like mine, it’s not uncommon to have one kid in soccer, another kid in basketball, and baseball season looming just around the corner. I have spent countless hours driving around town to find soccer cleats, baseball gloves and athletic clothing for my kids, and that’s not even mentioning all the shopping I’ve done for my husband’s sporting activities or my own running. You can imagine how excited I was when I discovered Eastbay.com.  All the stuff I needed for my family in one place online, available when it is convenient for ME to shop, not based on brick and mortar store hours.

Eastbay.com has every name brand athletic gear you can imagine, like Nike, Adidas, Asics and Reebok.  Not only do they have shoes, which seem to be the item I purchase the most, but they also have athletic gear, everything from baseball gloves and bats to basketballs and helmets.

There is a WIDE variety of clothing for men, women and children and tons of name brands, too. Boardshorts, Polo shirts, running clothes, Nike Pro, track jackets, hoody’s and lots more.  They even offer college tees with the school name or mascot emblem at an incredibly low price: two shirts for $19.99. I know when I’ve gone to the local college store to buy tees I’ve spent over $20 just for one!

The site is super easy to use. You can search by sport or by category and find whatever you need very quickly.  I even bought my daughter’s birthday present from Eastbay: a Reebok Cheerleader Gift set that included a cheerleader outfit, pom-poms, a megaphone and stickers all for under $20.

So trust me, save yourself the gas money and the time and visit Eastbay.com to shop for your family’s athletic gear.  Who doesn’t want to make their life a little easier?

What are good running shoes for sprinting?

i’m looking at running shoes, not track shoes, but what are the best pairs of running shoes from nike and adidas for sprinting?
my choices are nike lunarswift (come out in january) adidas supernova sequence 2 or the older Nike Air Max 2006?
i currently have a pair of adidas supernova glydes and they are decent. Im mainly leaning towards nike
thanks

Reebok opens up many doors: such like price and style, which is very efficient for running but those others [the nike and adidas] are very good too. It’s sometimes always best to choose a brand that is new, that has just come out.
Hope this helped!

What are a good pair of running shoes for me?

Ok seems like most running shoes I have now make my shins hurt after a mile I have used nike shocks and acis spending $100+ on each pair but they have not helped what are a good pair to use to avoid shin pain?

There are so many brands and they all offer different levels of support. First you need to know your feet. Do you have high arches, flat feet or normal feet? You can do your own exam with the wet test, see link below. Check out your local specialist running store to get fitted.

Shin soreness is usually a sign that you are over training or doing too much too soon. Also try to avoid hard surfaces, run on trails or grass if you can.

Happy running!

I have worn new running shoes for 3 weeks and just got a blister today. What gives?

These shoes are the same brand I always wear, the right size (I got them at a great running store), and I haven’t changed sock brands. Do I need to return the shoes?

No don’t….cowboy-up. It’s just a blister, that just means you are actually running HARD.

How often should I buy new running shoes?

Ive had these really good running shoes for about 3months and probably have about 75miles on them,is it time for new shoes?

my coach says every 300 - 500 miles is what everyone says is the range to get new shoes. but i think over 400 is pushing it.
I just get new shoes every cross country and track season.

if you don’t already have one you should get a flotrackr to track how many miles you do. My coach makes the whole team get one. So we can see how many miles we do, so that we know when to get new shoes. Its pretty cool. Its just a profile for yourself where you can keep track of your races times and daily miles.

What kind of running shoes should I use?

So my knees point inward and I’m hoping to start running again. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good pair of shoes that would work well with my knees. Because of my knees I tend to roll on the outsides of my foot if I don’t pay attention, if that helps any.

Get fitted at a running specialty store.

If you’re rolling outward like that it sounds like underpronation, so you’re likely to be looking at neutral cushioned shoes to facilitate correct pronation. Likely something along the lines of the Nike Vomero or Asics Nimbus.

They should be able to help you more in person though.

What are some really good shoes for running cross country?

I need to buy my boyfriend some good shoes for cross country as a gift and I know NOTHING about good running shoes:/
I know that runners like really light shoes but I don’t know anything else or a good store to go to or find online.

i ran XC for 2 years and i used adidas both years, just make sure they are light weight but not too flimsy because some courses are very tough.

What are the best running shoes for motion control?

I need a new pair of running shoes, i’m an overpronator, and i have a medium arch. Most of the ones i’ve been finding for overpronators say "for flat footed, heavy runners" i’m definitely not flat footed or heavy, i have a smaller build, i’m 5′8 and weigh 145lb. Any suggestions?

if you find running shoes that are gray on the insides of the rubber sole, they’re motion control shoes.

my shoes are asic gels. all my running shoes are asics but i love nike as well. id go with them.

but dont go to like sorts authority modells or anything. the people there 99% wont know what theyre talking about. go to a specialy running store to get your shoes, they’ll find you the best ones(:
