Cloth over the …
Cloth over the paint, as it is difficult to get any iron in the shoe and move it around effectively.
There are mini irons for sale, although we’ve never tried a mini iron. Google it, you should get the ‘Clover mini iron’ among others in the search results.
Be careful NOT to burn the rubber on the side of the sneakers
Like I said, it is a delicate job, especially if your painted design touches all the way down to the rubber sides.

I forgot to ad: …
I forgot to ad: NEVER iron your paint directly! Always iron either the back of the textile ( which is almost impossible with shoes ) or use a cloth between the painted surface and the iron, so the cloth protects the paint.

Wow, thank you so …
Wow, thank you so much for that information. I was able to find some textile paints online. The only thing I don’t like is the heating/ironing part. How the heck does one iron a sneaker? lol anyway, I’m getting some books on this so, hopefully that will help me learn more about textile painting. =) thank you so much for your help!

Its ‘Decor fin’ …
Its ‘Decor fin’ from ‘Royal Talens’, a brand specific to the Netherlands here.
Don’t set your mind on one brand, as long as its textile paint - online / hobby stores - which shows on the label that it can be ‘fixed’ through applying heat, it will stay on whatever textile you paint.
There are textile markers, but we had the experience of smudging during washing with the brand we first used, always test your paints and markers first.
Fixation is done by ironing, which is delicate work.
